The
United States Attorney’s Offices around the nation have been tasked with
increasing coordination
and collaboration among law enforcement
agencies. In an effort to further
educate law enforcement from
around the district on the topic of Domestic
Terrorism and to further the lines of communication the U. S. √
Attorney’s Office and the Anti-Defamation League
(ADL) are pleased to offer this seminar.
This seminar will address the concerns about
domestic terrorism efforts in the district and lessons learned
from the extremely knowledgeable presenters from the
sponsoring agencies. We
are privileged to be able √
to bring ADL into the District. Local prosecutors,
investigators, and analysts will be available to share cur-
rent trends within the Western District of
Tennessee.

About the Presenters:
Oren Segal is the Assistant
Director of the Anti-Defamation League’s Fact Finding Department.
He has been with the League for over 5 years. Mr. Segal is an
expert on left wing extremist organiz-ations, including radical animal and
environmental rights groups and the anti-globalization organiz- √
ation.
Dr. Mark Pitcavage, a historian and authority on extremism in the U. S., is Director of Fact Finding for the Anti-Defamation League. He heads ADL’s efforts to monitor extremist movements and groups and to combat the problems that they cause. He was one of the creators of ADL’s Law Enforcement Agency Resource Network (LEARN). Dr. Pitcavage has been actively involved with training law enforcement officers, prosecutors, and judges on terrorism and extremism issues, working closely with the FBI and many state and local agencies.
Brian Marcus has been an advocate for many years on
the use of the Internet as a means promote civil rights and educate the
public about extremism online. Mr. Marcus is now the Director of Internet
Monitoring for the Civil Rights Division of the Anti-Defamation League where he
reports on the use of the World Wide Web by extremist and hate groups.
Daniel Toft is the Supervisory Special Agent for the Domestic Terrorism Operations Un of the Counter Terrorism Division for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The Unit oversees domestic terrorism investigations throughout the U. S. and acts a conduit of information to other government agencies.
Each
presenter will be sharing their expertise as it pertains to fighting the war
against terrorism.
The
conference will be held at the Hilton Memphis at I-240 and Poplar Avenue in
Memphis, Tennessee. You may register
