Earlier today, for some spam-related reason, I was unable to send out a message to mailing list subscribers who have a comcast.net e-mail address. I have since submitted an RBL removal request with Comcast. So if you have a Comcast e-mail address and realized that you didn’t get a notice about our newest document, don’t worry, you’re still on the mailing list(s). Sorry for the inconvenience. As a few of you may have noticed, our forums weren’t used very often. As in… almost never. Except by spam bots. So I’ve finally taken the forums down, but that also means that I’ve changed the red links bar on every main page.

Therefore, you may need to clear your web browser’s cache and reload the page(s) if the new link sections aren’t appearing correctly for you.

Our sincere apologies for any problems you may have encountered on our web site from 1/16/09 to 1/21/09. We have since verified and re-uploaded nearly 150 HTML documents. Just a quick reminder about replying to a mailing list e-mail (the ones from “Second Amendment Committee ML” <mailinglist@libertygunrights.com>, not the ones that Bernadine sends out to her separate special group):

To make sure your reply goes directly to Bernadine, change the “To:” address to liberty89@libertygunrights.com before you hit Send. Otherwise, your reply goes to the mailing list address and might not be seen by anyone for a couple days, before it gets forwarded to Bernadine.

Bernadine’s e-mail address can also be found in the footer paragraph in any of our mailing list e-mails.

We’ve just finished reorganizing our Documents page, and consequently most of our forums have been updated as well.

One of the new sections on our Documents page is called “Connecting the Dots With Jigsaws”. You’ll find 4 items listed below its title:

To all of our mailing list subscribers:

Effective immediately, we are changing our mailing list methods and therefore need to request that you subscribe again at your earliest convenience, if you are still interested in receiving occasional e-mails from us. Please go to http://www.libertygunrights.com/mailinglist.html to complete the new form.

You now have two options when subscribing:

1) “Subscribe or change to site updates only.” — You will receive e-mails only regarding changes made to our web site, such as when new documents are added. This is what our original mailing list was intended to be, and we’d love to offer this option again.

2) “Subscribe or change to site updates plus other alerts and info.” — In addition to receiving e-mails regarding changes made to our web site, you will also receive e-mails from us with other on-topic information. It is possible that the additional e-mails may include attachments from time to time.

If you do not see the two options above on the form, please clear your browser’s cache and reload the page to assure that you are using the new form.

If you instead wish to unsubscribe from our mailing list at this time, simply take no action. We will soon be deleting all previous subscribers from our address book.

Also, if you are (re)subscribing and you have any filters or rules applied to your e-mail account, please make sure that e-mails from mailinglist@libertygunrights.com can get through. That is the new address that we will be using exclusively for the mailing list.

Our privacy policy remains the same: We do not sell or distribute our mailing list, and your address will not be revealed to other subscribers.

If you experience any problems with the form on our web site while subscribing, you may alternatively send your subscription request to mailinglist@libertygunrights.com (but we’d prefer that you use the form if you can). All other questions and comments regarding the material on our site should still be directed to Bernadine Smith at liberty89@libertygunrights.com.

I just realized that December 17th marked LibertyGunRights.com’s 11th anniversary, and wow, have we come a long way! Check out what our site looked like just two months after our grand opening! (Yikes!) Click on the thumbnail below to see the full screenshot.

It seems that the links I had created in the text for the “Forums are working” e-mail either didn’t send to Bernadine correctly, wasn’t correctly received/displayed by Bernadine’s e-mail client, or wasn’t then sent out to the mailing list correctly (I don’t yet know which). The only links that worked for me when I received the final version were the ones that were auto-recognized by my e-mail client.

The most important of the words/phrases I had linked was “click here“, at the bottom of the e-mail. It should have been linked to our Mailing List page in case anyone wants to unsubscribe.
