New Design Uploaded

As promised, the new design has (obviously) been uploaded. There might be a couple minor changes made to some text or the blog theme in the next week or so, but that’s about it. We hope you are pleased with this new design, and we welcome all feedback. To ensure that you are viewing all of the new images and files, please clear your browser’s cache. Have a wonderful Independence Day!

Upcoming Design Change

In the coming days or maybe weeks, a new design for our site will be uploaded. It is currently almost complete, and it should look something like this:

New Site Design Sneak Peek

Significant changes besides the obvious new appearance include:

  • The blog page will no longer need to open in a new window, and its theme will match the site design.
  • Links on the Documents page will be preceded by a small image that will show which type of document the link is for: PDF, WEB, or IMG. (CSS2 attribute selectors FTW!)
  • Links to new documents will be highlighted in yellow, rather than being preceded by the current ‘new’ image.
  • The addition of a Podcasts page, although we do not have any episodes recorded at this time.
  • A photo of Bernadine Smith will be included on the About Us page, and some info might be updated.

It will be recommended that you empty your web browser’s cache and reload our site’s page after the first time you see the new design (I’ll post again when it has been uploaded). Also, you’ll need to make sure that you are using the newest version of your web browser (such as Firefox 2, Opera 9, or Internet Explorer 7), assuming your system will support the newest version. This is important because older browsers may not display portions of our new site correctly, not to mention that newer versions are generally more secure and more compliant with established web standards. Updates for the aforementioned web browsers are available as free downloads.
